You can let me know when you’ve completed the assignments by sending me an email with or without a photo of our completed work. For example, “I wrote five journal entries this week, and here’s a photo of my Reading Reflection.”

Assignments – April 13-17, 2020

  • Write two half-page journal entries this week over topics of your choice.

  • After reading your library book for a minimum of two hours this week, write a brief summary and reflection of what you read.  This means just briefly explain the most important developments or changes that occurred in your book and tell what you thought about them. Title your paper “Reading Reflection” and date it.

  • Read the short story “The Scarlet Ibis” by James Hurst.  Write a brief paper reflecting on your personal opinion of the story. Because the scarlet ibis symbolizes Doodle in the story, write a short explanation of how they resemble one another.  Be sure to refer to story when you are explaining their similarities.

  • Editing Worksheets:  Edit the worksheets just as we do in Daily Language every day.

  • Using Modifiers Correctly:  Read the top of each worksheet carefully before completing the exercises.
