I began my teaching teaching career at Ripley Elementary the fall of 1992 after graduating from Oklahoma State University. This year will mark my 25 th year of teaching. I taught Title 1 Math for my first 4 years. Then I was given the opportunity to teach in a self contained 4th grade classroom for 3 years and 5th grade for 1 year. After that my love for mathematics took over, I taught 7th grade and 8th grade math and Algebra 1 for 3 years. When Mrs. Pitts became the full time elementary principal, I moved down to 5 th and 6 th grade for the next 12 years teaching math and reading. I traded reading for science for 2 years after Mrs. Fuchs retired. The fall of 2015 I moved again, this time to teach 3rd and 4th grade math. I wanted to help the younger students build a firm foundation in mathematics to prepare them for the upper math levels.
