As you all know we unfortunately begin distance learning on April 6th. On this date, you may pick up your child’s learning packets, as well as, their personal items from our classroom. You will do this by driving through the pickup line (in the same way as the breakfast/lunch pickup) and a school staff member will give you your child’s material. Please remain in your car for the safety of you and our staff members. If you need school supplies for home such as paper, pencils, or crayons please let me know as soon as possible so that I can include those with your child’s belongings
The time and date for pick-up is April 6th from 9-10am.
** If you are unable to pick up your items at this time please call Mr.Hoffman at the school to schedule a pickup time. **
For our distance learning curriculum, each student will need to work through their handwriting journals and math workbooks. They will also need to complete their home learning menus. I would also recommend reviewing their sight words for 2-3 minutes a day, as well as keeping a journal of their distance learning experiences (just a couple sentences a few times a week), and of course reading together as much as possible. Most of our class has chosen to use paper packets as our form of distance learning, so I will make these packets available for our entire class to pick up from the school. In addition to the required work that you will be picking up, I will also be sharing great online resources and activities through SeeSaw and our class webpage that are optional but will greatly supplement the skills that your child will be working on.
I would like to be in contact with you guys as much as possible about your child’s progress and just what they’re up to in general. (I miss them a lot!!!!) So, please feel free to email me or message me about ANYTHING you want to share or ask. You guys have an amazing group of kids!! I have had so much fun working with them this year. It breaks my heart that our year was cut so short and we have to miss out on so many fun activities together. I hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy and enjoying your time at home together. Fingers crossed that I get to see you all sooner than later.
